A coil cleaning program is fundamental for the health and performance of a building’s HVAC system for three main reasons:
- Manage costs. A building’s HVAC system accounts for a majority of the total energy use, so keeping it at optimal performance is favorable to operating costs. See our full post – “Are Dirty Coils Robbing you of Efficiency”.
- Mitigates Spread of Infectious Agents. While using the recommended filtration reduces infectious agents moving from one area to the next, it’s also important to remove debris and harmful particles at the entry and exit points of the HVAC system.
- Regulates set points of humidity and temperature more efficiently. Temperature and humidity regulation play a large part in the transmission of infectious agents. The setpoints for each are determined on a case-by-case basis; however, maintaining debris-free heat transfer surfaces allows for more efficiency of regulating these set points.
