Nick is an account manager working in San Antonio, Texas. His sales expertise and driven personality make him a valued addition to our sales team. Learn more about Nick’s position, his hobbies and what he loves most about working for Chemsearch FE.

Nick grew up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. He moved to his territory, San Antonio, after beginning his interview process while transitioning out of the Army and has been there almost two years. Since moving to San Antonio, Nick has managed to gain new and lasting friendships, mostly at the gym and local businesses where he often goes. He enjoys barbecuing, painting the town, attending local community events, and working on projects around the house and in the garage. When the weather’s right, he likes woodworking and making things like tables, benches and shelves.

What are the most rewarding parts of your job?

I am able to develop meaningful relationships with customers by walking in their door day one as a stranger, building a connection with them and selling them some products. Then eventually becoming a resource to them, and days, months, or years down the road, becoming a friend.

How does working for FE align with your life goals?

It allows for flexibility in my work schedule while understanding that the harder and smarter I work the more I earn. I’m able to take a day here and there to visit my family or go on a retreat.

Where were you (job or industry) before joining FE? Did you see yourself in a sales role?

I was an active duty Army officer stationed in North Carolina. When I was getting out of the Army I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do, and being Field Artillery I didn’t really have a skill set that translated to the civilian workforce. I chose sales because I knew I would have a job at the tip of the spear and get to see multiple facets of a business.

What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment so far in your career with FE?

When I opened 120 accounts, I knew that I had a solid book of business, which gave me a sense of security.  Now that I am comfortable with the amount of customers I have, I feel like I am able to further develop the relationships with my customers even more.

What do you consider a fulfilling workday?

Knowing that after each day I conducted my business with 100% integrity and having my customers know that as well.

Nick’s manager, Matt, shares his experience working with Nick:

Working with Nick has been a lot of fun. Nick and I get along great and have a great time when working together, usually never a dull moment. Nick’s military background has wired his brain to try to streamline things. He’s always trying to help myself and the organization out to find a better way to do things.

In what area do you think Nick shines?

Nick has excelled at many things since starting with the organization, but if I had to pick one, I would say his ability to put people at ease. Nick has a great skill in displaying his level of confidence in what we do as a company, which is a testament to Nick’s ability to gain people’s trust. Nick also has the knack for solving problems for customers.

How would you describe Nick’s relationships with his customers?

Nick’s relationships with his customers is fantastic. He’s great at getting novelties that are specific to his customers’ likes and needs. Whether its postre (Hispanic desserts/pastries) or paletas (Mexican fruit pops), he’s totally embraced the culture down in San Antonio, which shows his customers that he cares about them and their likes and dislikes.
